At Wah Pow Healing Lodge, we strive to empower, support and foster individuals who come through our doors to achieve the level of success they desire on their healing journey. We believe this is achieved through the use of traditional teachings, land-based knowledge and practices.

The Beaver Lake Wah Pow Healing and Wellness Society is an accredited non-profit organization that delivers holistic alcohol and drug treatment programs to couples and singles who are ready to work towards sobriety.

Located 15 kilometers southeast of Lac La Biche, AB on the Beaver Lake Cree Nation. The centre provides an intensive 60 day holistic treatment program specializing in trauma and abuse. The program includes group sessions, role playing, video and PowerPoint presentations. All sessions, presentations and activities are mandatory for clients to attend.

Clients are housed in a shared, spacious, comfortable rooms or shared cabins. There is 24 hour security and counselling services on-site. Laundry and fitness is also available.

Wah Pow offers successful, holistic treatment plans to help individuals confidently break free from substance addiction, step into sustainable recovery, and take back the joy in your life.

Admissions

Wah Pow Mission Statement

The Wah Pow Healing & Wellness Society accepts referrals from recognized addictions counselling services such as NNADAP, Addiction and Mental Health Services and other addictions services. Admissions to our program are on a voluntary basis only: eligibility is as follows:

  • Client must be referred by a recognized addictions counsellor. We do not accept self referrals.

  • A completed application (pre-intake medical) must be submitted by referral agent/agency.

  • All medical, dental, optical and legal issues to be resolved prior to admission date.

  • Client must be 18 years old or older.

  • Confirmation of Funding: Status Individuals Only - Billing is through NIHB

  • Minimum of 7 days sobriety/detoxification is required. We are no longer a detox centre.

  • Client with Children Services must have their visitation arranges prior to admissions date.
