Wah Pow Healing Lodge does not accept self referrals.

How do I get a referral?

Reach out to your community (band office, health centre) and ask for a NNADAP worker.
Referral can also be a case worker, counsellor, as long as it’s someone the client sees on a regular basis.

What is the purpose of a referral?

The referral is responsible for arranging transportation to and from treatment, ensuring the application in properly completed, and is the main point of contact for the applicant.

Intake Procedure:

  1. Get a referral

  2. Complete the application with you referral

  3. Medical examination to be completed within 6 months

  4. Detoxification is required before treatment (or a minimum of 7 days sobriety)

  5. Submit your application (via email: intake@wahpow.ca or Fax: (780) 623-4076)

  6. Our intake coordinator will contact your referral once your application has been reviewed

Intake Information:

Wah Pow does a continual intake, meaning there are no set intake dates. Applicants are placed on a list for review and the intake coordinator will contact your referral to confirm dates.

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Must have treaty status

  • Must be referred by a recognized addictions counsellor; self-referrals are not accepted.

  • Minimum of 7 days detoxification required.

  • All medical, dental, optical, and legal issues must be resolved prior to the intake date.

Note: Individuals with organic brain disorders are not eligible for admission due to specialized health and medical needs they require.

Some of these can include:

  • Schizophrenia

  • BPD

  • Psychosis

  • Drug induced psychosis

Our lodge has a capacity of 20 beds. 10 males, 10 females.
We also accept couples.
